2 parts Rittenhouse rye whiskey
¼ part ancho chili liqueur
½ part dark cherry syrup or Cherry Heering, to taste
2 dashes chocolate mole bitters
stir, serve up in a chilled, absinthe-rinsed coupe.
Mahogany in color, cinnamon on the nose (alchemy, I guess), sweet & anise on the palate, mild ancho burn all the way down. Let’s call it “Silent Night.”
