The More Things Change …

I’m continually reminded of a line from All the President’s Men, when Hal Holbrooks’ Deep Throat character says, of the Nixon White House staff,

Forget the myths the media’s created about the White House. The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand.

“Things” do appear to be escalating. I wonder when the consensus will turn to “out of hand.”
