Barack Obama Named Recipient Of JFK Profile In Courage Award

The AP:

The award is presented annually to public servants who have made courageous decisions of conscience without regard for the personal or professional consequences. It is named for Kennedy’s 1957 Pulitzer Prize-winning book, “Profiles in Courage.”

Richly deserved. Here is a man with a Harvard law degree and all the security and comfort it would have afforded him, who turned instead to community organizing and local politics to improve people’s lives on the south side of Chicago. Look where it got him.
